LISBON FALLS — Lisbon High School will host the annual Scholarship Night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, in the high school cafeteria. Students and parents are invited. Judaism course

AUBURN — Temple Shalom Synagogue-Center will offer “A (Re)Introduction to Judaism” this spring.

The course is open to anyone who is interested; non-Jews who are curious about Judaism; non-Jews who are thinking about conversion; and Jews who want to renew their knowledge of basic Judaism.

Classes will meet from 7 to 9 p.m.Thursdays beginning April 3 for 12 weeks at Temple Shalom, 74 Bradman St. A minimal fee will be charged for the course and materials.

Author to visit

WINTHROP — Maine children’s book author Lynn Plourde will autograph her newest book, “Thank You, Grandpa,” from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 5, at Apple Valley Books, Main Street.

A portion of the proceeds from book sales will benefit the Maine Hospice Council. Call the bookstore at 377-3967 for information.

Plourde is also the author of several other picture books. A Skowhegan native, Plourde lives with her family in Winthrop.
