Along with Maranacook students were German high schoolers from Cony, Mt. Ararat, Mount View, Boothbay and Deering High Schools.
The day included competitive and noncompetitive activities such as dancing, singing, board games and watching videos that each school created. Part of the day included rigorous competition that was judged by Colby and Bates College professors.
German 4 students earned first place for their video, Schatz Gesucht. They were Allyson Upton, Katie Bourgoin, Taryn Kelley, Carrie Crockett, Billy Robinson, Josh Edwin, Kristina Bickford, Johanna Irland, Heather Miller, Ben Bachelder, Patrick Bates, Ed Hunter, Kyle Severance, Amber Packard and Brian Tibbetts. This first place award was a tie and shared with Mount View High School.

The first place prize won by the Maranacook German students was a large Volkswagen Beetle trophy. Maranacook German teacher, Carol Ladd, said, “This is such a great way for students of German to test their knowledge and have fun at the same time. I am very proud of my students and appreciative of their hard work.”
