AUBURN — An open installation of officers of Mt. Olivet Chapter 29, Order of the Eastern Star, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
Eleanor V. Peterson will be installed as worthy matron, and her son, Steven E. Peterson, as worthy patron. This is the first time in the history of the chapter that a mother and son will serve as the presiding officers.
Alice P. Webber, grand conductress of the Grand Chapter of Maine OES, will serve as the installing matron, assisted by William H. Stretton, associate grand patron, as installing patron; Corley Anne Byras, grand secretary, as installing chaplain; Janice C. Meserve, past matron of Pine Cone Chapter 26, installing marshal; Debra L. Greim, grand organist, as installing organist; Harriet L. Stretton, past matron of Pine Cone Chapter, Star Point Ceremony; and Deborah L. Perron, the worthy matron’s granddaughter, as the installing soloist.
Girls from Lewiston Assembly 14, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, will be in charge of passing out programs: Felecia Carr, past worthy adviser; Megan Skilling, past worthy adviser; Amanda and Lindsay Carr. They are daughters of Mt. Olivet Chapter members.
Grandchildren of the worthy matron participating in the installation will be Kathryn Peterson, Alexandra Rubin, George and Donald Peterson, flower presentations; Richard W. Perron III, grace for refreshments; Joshua and Jonathan Perron, photographers.
Other officers to be installed are Amy B. Peterson, associate matron; Roland D. Martin, associate patron; Catherine E. Hunnewell, secretary; Joan D. Gellatly, treasurer; Dianna J. Carr, conductress; Nancy Harris, associate conductress; Sandra L. Dunlap, chaplain; Helen M. Shelton, marshal; Pauline A. Bockus, organist; Sheila M. Elz, Adah; Ruth A. Bell, Ruth; Pamela A. Toussaint, Esther; Ina M. Brainerd, Martha; Kathleen S. Webster, Electa; Jerry R. Williams, warder; and Paul R. Harris, sentinel.
Cathy Hunnewell, is chairwoman of refreshments, which will be served in the dining room by the past matrons after the installation. All members of Eastern Star and their families and friends are invited.
