LEWISTON — The Hunger and Homelessness Committee at Bates College will host a panel on affordable housing at 4:15 p.m. Friday, April 4.
Panelists will include Lewiston city officials responsible for community development and housing provision, as well as Lewiston activists for affordable housing and homelessness prevention.
Panelists will address:
• What is the affordable housing situation in Lewiston?
• What is the need? How is it being met? How well?
• What does the future of affordable housing in Lewiston look like? Is there a plan? Will the need for affordable housing change?
• What will be the impact of the war? Of tax cuts? Of budget cuts?
• What decisions will face the community in coming years regarding affordable housing? How will these decisions be made?
• What is the role of the citizen in the process of providing affordable housing?
The panel discussion will take place on campus in the Muskie Archives, 70 Campus Ave.
