AUBURN — New Auburn American Legion Post 153, color guard and members gathered on Center Street with members of Harry J. Conway Post 135, AL, Sabattus, Nelson-Conley Post 66, AL, Lisbon FAlls, State Rep. Michael Vaughn of Durham and area residents to show support for the troops.
Plans are under way for future gatherings of “Support Our Veterans” by New Auburn American Legion 153. Call Commander Emmett Stuart at the post during the day at 782-1118 if interested. Veteran organizations are invited to participate.
Plans are also being made to have photos of the gatherings put on the Internet and sent to the troops.
The New Auburn Post is collecting items to be sent to the servicemen and women. Articles can be dropped off at the post where an area of items ready to go is on display.

New Auburn American Legion Post 153 Scouts are also showing they care. They attended the gathering carrying the flags of all branches of service and will be at future gatherings.
