DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Julius Stein, 88, of Swampscott, Mass. ,and Delray Beach, Fla., for many years, died Wednesday, April 2, at Delray Community Hospital, after a short illness.
Born in Chelsea, Mass., the son of the late Hyman and May Finklestein Stein, he was former owner of the Stein Paper Co. in Chelsea.
He attended Chelsea schools and Northeastern University. In the 1950s he opened a branch of Stein Paper Co. in Lewiston and operated it for over 20 years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Masons and Temple Israel in Swampscott.
Survivors include nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Stein, Jacob Stein, Ida Satz, Sally Levy, Rose Stein and Gita Wizig.
