1932 – 2003
PORTLAND — Mabel J. Leino, 70, of Harrison died Thursday, April 3, at Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Mexico on April 30, 1932, the daughter of Percy and Erma McCollister Jefferson. She attended Mexico schools and had been a homemaker all of her life.
She married Lauri E. Leino on May 10, 1952. He died Sept. 20, 1999.
She was a member of the Knit & Sew Group in Harrison, meeting for many years. She gave a lot of her work away as gifts.
She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Judie Leino of Augusta; two sons, Murray Leino and his wife Patty of Poland and James Leino and his companion, Jody Schultz of N. Norway; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Zoe; two sisters, Hazel Wheeler and Laura Heikkinen both of South Paris; several nieces and nephews; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
