Dear Sun Spots: The Androscoggin County Multiple Sclerosis walk will be held Sunday April 6. We still need volunteers. For more information, please contact Marcia Humason Akers at (207) 998-4944, makers92698@aol.com; or Evelyn Lauze at (207) 946-7187, evelpaul@aol.com. — No Name, Lewiston.
Dear Sun Spots: Does anyone have puzzles to exchange for others I have; about 10 or more? I would like the cat and horse shapes puzzle that they had at Mardens.
I also have a couple of plants to give away. Anyone interested will need a large pot to take it home in.
There was a song we had in school and I’ve lost the words to, called “Holly Mollie Pitcher.” It was back in the ’40s. I thought someone might still have the words. I went to the Webster School in Auburn and our teacher at the time had got the music for us. Please call (207) 782-6953. — Muriel Sawyer, No Town.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots did try locating the words to “Holly Mollie Pitcher” but was unable to locate any. Hopefully other readers will be willing to share them with you if they have them.
Dear Sun Spots: Many are helped through your column so maybe someone can answer the question I have. Some time ago, someone told me they had heard that someone in Lewiston collected obsolete typewriters but that was all the information they could provide. I have one dating back to 1947 or before. I would be pleased to speak with anyone regarding the same. I can be reached at (207) 782-7283. I am amazed by the wealth of information you have to provide so many with answers to their problems that no one else can provide and you get answers and results. — An Auburn daily reader.
Dear Sun Spots: In response to Margaret R. from Farmington (Tuesday Sun Spots column): the students of Crescent Park School in Bethel are currently collecting Campbell’s labels and UPC’s from Pepperidge Farm products. We are also collecting box tops from General Mills, Betty Crocker and Pillsbury products. Please send them to Crescent Park School, 19 Crescent Lane, Bethel, ME 04217.
She can also call any elementary school in her area to ask if the school is collecting Campbell’s labels and donate them locally. The schools appreciate the donations very much. It is a great way to help our schools. — Caroline V. Gould, Bethel.
Dear Sun Spots: Is there an address available for Caron yarn or somewhere that I can purchase it from? I need one roll of yarn, soft sage #580 so that I can finish an afghan for my granddaughter. Also, if someone has this color of Caron yarn to sell, I will be willing to pay a reasonable price. Please contact me at (207) 753-1185 and leave a message. My address is 10 Fairview Ave., Auburn, ME 04210. — Thank you from a desperate grandmother.
