FARMINGTON – Registered nurse Taffy Davis has been appointed outpatient and oncology manager at Franklin Memorial Hospital, according to Jill Berry Bowen, FMH chief operating officer.
Davis will uphold a leadership and management role, yet continue to work clinically with patients. She will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the units including staffing, budgeting, staff development and supervision, and system work plans.
Currently, Franklin Memorial’s Outpatient Care Department provides a wide array of health care services including cardiology, pulmonology, diabetes, wound care, oncology, and endoscopy and other procedures.
This summer, Davis will assist in the move of the space for minor surgical procedures and endoscopies to the new Ambulatory Surgical Center currently being constructed next to the hospital’s existing operating rooms.
Davis has 18 years of extensive nursing experience caring for patients and has held a variety of management roles since joining Franklin Memorial in 1991. Most recently she served as director of surgical services.
Davis received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Salem State College, in Salem, Mass. She is a member of the Organization of Maine Nurse Executives/Nursing Leaders of Maine and was elected to serve as the organization’s secretary through 2004.
Davis lives in Farmington with her husband, Buzz, and son and daughter, ages 10 and 12, respectively.
