The session is geared toward first-time homeowners in Lewiston-Auburn.
AUBURN — Coastal Enterprises Inc., a nonprofit community development organization based in Wiscasset, will hold a free informational meeting regarding home-ownership opportunities for owner-occupied multi-family homes in downtown Lewiston and Auburn.
Primarily geared toward the first-time homebuyer, the meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at the Auburn Police Department, 1 Minot Ave.
The purpose is to inform area residents of homeownership programs available to them that make the process of buying a home easier and more affordable, and to specific opportunities that are being developed in Lewiston/Auburn.
Specific attention will be given to CEI’s Lease-Purchase Program, as well as a similar program administered by the city of Auburn and the Maine Housing Authority’s New Neighbors Program for small owner-occupied multi-family homes.
Though this class will focus primarily on first-time homebuyers and those wishing to purchase a home in the near future, all are welcome.
Brief presentations will also be given by other community-oriented efforts and organizations, including CEI’s Individual Development Account program, the Lewiston Time-Dollar Network, the Downtown Neighborhood Association and Seeds of Change. A representative from each of the programs will attend and will be available for questions.
As seating is limited, registration is required in advance. Call Sean Gambrel at 882-7552 to register or for more information.
