Healthy Hearts: A circuit training class that features 15-minute rotations, including low-impact aerobics, cardiovascular machines and muscular strengthening/flexibility plus a cool-down and relaxation period. Blood pressures and heart rates are monitored in every class; 7:15 to 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Balance Ball: The resist-a-ball class emphasizes a workout that will build core strength to help improve or maintain activities of daily living. An exercise ball must be purchased and brought to class. Resist-a-balls are available through the HealthSteps office and are approximately $20 (size and color vary); 7:15 to 8 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
Power Hour Plus: A high-energy hour offers a safe and low impact option for those who would like a more intense class. It is effective and challenging, yet easy to follow and includes an aerobic component followed by strengthening and stretching exercises; 8 to 8:45 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
Blood pressures will be taken for HealthSteps members from 7 to 8 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday.
