Troop packages

LEWISTON – Care packages for military personnel will be accepted at the front entrance of Sears on April 9 through 16. Items should be no larger than a shoe box. Items can include nonperishable food, practical or hygenic items, fun articles or something sent from the kids. The items should be packed in a sturdy box double-taped and with string around it. A declaration note should accompany it. Postage will be at the regular rate.

LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine announces “Try Me Week” during school vacation week, April 21 through 26. The YWCA will offer a special pool schedule, including open swims, water fitness and Magic Y World. The Y will offer members any of the open swims for $1 and non-members will pay $2.
