FARMINGTON – Holy Week at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Academy Street will begin with a Palm Sunday celebration during morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 13.
A Maundy Thursday service will be observed at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at the church. Those attending will remember the Last Supper as they gather for communion. The service will conclude with a Service of Shadows, or Tenebrae.
An ecumenical Good Friday service will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Old South Congregational Church with clergy from all the Farmington churches participating. The public is welcome to attend all or part of the service.
Easter Sunday will begin with an ecumenical sunrise service at 5:45 a.m. April 20 on Voter Hill in West Farmington.
Following Sunday School classes at 9 a.m., Henderson Memorial’s congregation will worship at 10:30 a.m. Easter Sunday with a celebration of the Resurrection with music, the word and flowers. The young people of the church will begin the service by performing a short musical remembrance of the story of Jesus’ crucifixion.
All are welcome to join the congregation for any of these services.
