DIXFIELD – Selectmen will face a variety of agenda topics at their 4:30 p.m. meeting, Monday, April 14, in the town office.
Topping the list is a discussion about a police department petition, which has been circulated through town since last month when the board cut the police force from four to three full-time officers.
Initiated by townspeople upset with the board’s decision, the petition seeks to force selectmen to hold a special town meeting to explain why they allegedly went against a majority vote at last year’s town meeting to stay with a four-person police.
It may not be possible, however, to force the board to hold a special town meeting.
Other topics include a discussion about American Legion flags, an abatement request by Scott Gunther and reports from department heads.
Upcoming notices or meetings include:
• Second half of taxes due, Tuesday, April 15.
• Bicentennial Clock and Bicentennial committees, meetings respectively slated for 8 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Wedesday, April 16, in the town office.
• Assessor in town all day, Thursday, April 17.
• Planning Board at 7 p.m. in the town office and Cemetery Field Trip for Restoration Bids at 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, in the town office.
An executive session is scheduled to discuss a personnel issue.
