OXFORD – A 17-year-old bicycle rider remained in critical condition Monday after he was struck by a car while crossing Route 26 on Sunday.
Maine State Police Trooper Ricci Cote said a LifeFlight helicopter took Kevin Perkins of Oxford to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after he was struck by Barbara Haraden, 77, of Portland.
He said Haraden was traveling north when she hit Perkins, who was riding a bike near the intersection of Roller Rink Road and Number Six Road.
Cote said the investigation is still ongoing and that speed did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
