LIVERMORE FALLS – Levi Jones hit a three-run blast in the six-run second inning to help his own cause on the mound as Livermore Falls secured a key 9-6 MVC baseball win over Hall-Dale on Friday.

Mike Chamard cracked a crucial RBI single in the fourth inning for the Andies (7-3).

The Bulldogs (9-2) attempted to rally from an eight-run deficit in the final frame but came up short.

Chuck Drake poked a pair of doubles, while Cole Flagg also chipped in a double for the Andies.

Levi Jones racked up eight strikeouts for his fifth win of the season.

Dirigo 3, Monmouth 2

DIXFIELD – Batter Gary Holman and baserunner Matt Brown executed a superb suicide squeeze in the eighth inning to help Dirigo manufacture a 3-2 MVC triumph over Monmouth.

The Cougars (7-4) took a brief lead with a run in the sixth, but the Mustangs responded with one in the seventh.

Corey Wing ripped the only extra-base hit in the game with a triple for the Cougars.

Wing was relieved in the eighth by Brandon Berry, who notched the pitching victory. Brian Gardner took the loss.

St. Dom’s 8, Freeport 3

FREEPORT – Ryan Turgeon kept St. Dom’s undefeated in the WMC, striking out six to lead the Saints to an 8-3 win over Freeport.

Following a two-run first inning which included a home run by catcher Ben Grant, Ryan Turgeon settled down and struck out six Freeport (8-2) batters. The Saints (10-0) got on the board in the third inning on an RBI single by Turgeon.

Two batters later, Josh Dwinal delivered a two-run single and scored later in the inning on a passed ball.

Mt. Blue 8, Medomak 3

FARMINGTON – Pitcher Mike Milliken of Mt. Blue (9-5) poked a two-run single in the fourth inning to set the tone for an 8-3 KVAC win over Medomak Valley.

Pitcher Tyson Weeks (1-2) notched his first varsity win, striking out four and walking three.

Oxford Hills 9, Leavitt 3

SOUTH PARIS – Rob McVety had a two-run pinch hit to boost Oxford Hills to a 9-3 KVAC win over Leavitt.

The Vikings’ Chris Henderson slapped two singles, while Garrett Olson added three hits for Oxford Hills (12-2).

Georges Valley 13, Madison 0

MADISON – Georges Valley’s Peter Carty belted two-run doubles in the first and the fourth innings, helping the Buccaneers shut out Madison 13-0 in MVC action for their second win of the season.

Shawn Hiller smashed a double in the third inning to spark the Bucs.
