I am writing in response to two letters.

First, “Second chance” by John K. Hampshire (May 11). Difficulties faced by sexual offenders he says?

You want to know about difficulties? Try being that child, then tell me about hard times to adjust.

For sure these molesters are marked by the public. They have a hard time to find a landlord? Well, good! I hope they all have a hard time with everything they do for the rest of their lives because it’s not nearly as tough as being the child.

And none of them can be rehabilitated so I don’t know why anyone tries to help them. Help the kids.

Molesting children is a sick sexual preference that can not be changed. So stop feeling sorry for them. They deserve everything they are getting and more.

Let me correct Louis H. Perry who wrote “Scot free,” (May 8). When she said an offender received four years for gross sexual assault on 30 children that man did get off scot free and we all know probation doesn’t keep up with them.

And good that they have to register every three months. We should make it every three hours just to protect our children.

All offenders do belong in the same nasty barrel. We all need to stop protecting them and start protecting our future, our children.
