HEBRON – The Hebron Station School’s two-story Maine woods mural is the backdrop for a display of handmade Windmill Quilts created by the children of Sarah Otterson’s second-grade classroom.

Barbara Swan Frost of South Paris has, for the past seven years, volunteered to teach patchwork quilt-making to second-graders, using a mini-grant from Pine Tree Quilters Guild.

The seven-week series concluded with a “Quilt Celebration” on the evening of April 30 at the school cafeteria, when parents, siblings and friends attended to see the quilts and hear about the quilting experience first-hand and its application of quilting skills in several areas of the curriculum.
