RUMFORD – Officer Daniel Garbarini is investigating a reported burglary and theft that occurred Tuesday at a Maine Avenue residence.

Sgt. George Cayer said that sometime Tuesday afternoon someone reportedly took a resident’s federal income tax return refund check for $149 from inside the residence.

The incident was reported to police Friday.
