Hannaford presents grant to Mildred Fox School

PARIS – The principal, staff and students at the Mildred Fox Elementary School in South Paris were surprised recently with a $1,548 check from Peter Doucette, Duane Hendershot and Doug Smith of the Oxford Hannaford Store.

The grant is a result of the school’s high participation in last fall’s Hannaford Helps Schools Program. During the program, Hannaford issued school dollar certificates to customers who purchased selected products at the store. Customers, in turn, gave these certificates to the school of their choice. The Fox School earned the additional $1,000 grant because it was the school that raised the most certificate dollars.

The Oxford Hannaford store hopes that by participating in this program their support of local schools will help make a difference in the community. This is the second year in a row that Hannaford has honored the Fox School as the school with the highest program participation. The school plans to use the grant to fund student programs that they were not able to include in their budget.
