LEWISTON – Lewiston Chapter President Mike Bohunicky will be the speaker when the National Association of Retired Federal Employees meets at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Ramada Inn.
Bohunicky is a former Department of the Navy civil service employee who retired after a 30-year career in the personnel field. He will speak about items of interest to members that were discussed at the recent State Federation Convention in Caribou.
State Federation President Richard Dauphin and Andrea Pastore of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield will attend as guests.
This will be the final session until fall, and members are invited to bring someone who might be interested in joining. Civilians in any agency of the federal government, including retirees, employees, spouses and former spouses, are invited.
A planning meeting was recently held at the home of Vi Dumais, Present were Bohunicky, Sue Stetson, Doris Hamel, Dot Courtois, Therese Baumer, Jayne Bickford and Roland Bellefleur.
Dinner, meeting
AUBURN – The Androscoggin Historical Society will gather for a dinner and meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the High Street Congregational Church. Charles W. Plummer will discuss “Tall Trees and Tough Men: Log Drives on the Androscoggin” at 7.

Young at Heart
AUBURN – The Young at Heart Fellowship will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Court Street Baptist Church. There will be a business meeting. Alice Piper will install new officers for the coming year. Devotions will be led by Pastor Rick Messanna of the North Livermore Baptist Church.
Bring a bag lunch and place settings. Birthday cakes and beverages will be provided. The program, given by Messanna, will be on interesting and entertaining readings.
KC banquet
LEWISTON – The Holy Cross Council 12652, Knights of Columbus, Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Marco’s Restaurant for the annual end-of-the-year banquet. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 782-8998.
Spring concert
LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon High School Music Department will hold its spring concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the cafeteria. Admission is free; donations are welcome.
Screenings
LEWISTON – Residents of the Lewiston area can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke. Life Line Screening will be at the Elks Lodge 371, 1675 Lisbon St., on Thursday, May 29. Appointments will begin at 10 a.m.
Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete. A vascular screening package, including the stroke/carotid artery, abdominal aortic aneurysm and ankle brachial index (hardening of the arteries) screenings is $99. A complete vascular package, including an osteoporosis screening, costs $125.
