RANGELEY – The annual Prose, Pies and Plants sale sponsored by the Rangeley Public Library will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, at the library on Lake Street.

Stacks of books, tables filled with home baked pies and cardboard boxes for your choice of plants will be arranged on the lawn.

The prose part is self-evident. Books, hardcover, paperbacks, material for children and adults with much of it chosen as appropriate to plants, such as gardening, arranging, how-to topics, pies, cooking and cookbooks, will be available for sale.

Judy Wicken of the library board’s fund-raising committee reminds volunteers that they will be donating to a good cause, the local library.

Plants have been solicited from the Farmer’s Wife, First Farm, Green Farm Plantworks, Mountain Greenery and Sunrise View Farm for a great selection of annuals, perennials, herbs and probably even some house plants. The plants are usually acclimatized for Rangeley’s cool mountain mornings and short growing season for success for all planters.
