GREENE – The Julia Adams Morse Memorial Library has received a grant from the Androscoggin Savings Bank Maine Street Foundation for construction of an expansion to its existing library.

The Friends of the Julia Adams Morse Memorial has begun a Capital Campaign to raise money for the expansion.

The award presentation was made by Steven Clossen, president of Androscoggin Savings Bank. Accepting the award was Marnie Gardner, Friends president, and ReNae Gagnon chairwoman of the Expansion Committee.

The expansion will allow for much needed space and will impact the literacy, educational, technological and cultural needs of residents.

The foundation was established in 1997 with a grant from Androscoggin Savings Bank. Its mission is to advance innovative strategies, encourage philanthropy and establish itself as a good corporate citizen.
