LEWISTON – Lewiston Post 9150, Department of Maine Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Auxiliary will meet at noon Sunday, May 25, at the Lewiston Elks Lodge, Lisbon Street.
The Golden Age Games to be held at the University of Maine in Orono in August will be discussed and volunteers will be asked to sign up to help score. Members will also discuss the department convention and memorial services and delegates will be chosen for the department and national conventions. Final Memorial Day plans will be made.
The L-A Veterans Council will hold a flag pole dedication at the new Veterans Memorial Park, corner of Main and Lincoln streets after the parade. The post and several members purchased three of the six flags and poles to be displayed.
The Auxiliary will conduct installation of officers after the meeting, then the post will install. Incoming post Commander Rich Wright will hold a barbecue for members and guests after the ceremony. Roger Fillion will prepare the food.
