COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Taylor Twellman scored in the 89th minute on an assist from Pat Noonan to push the New England Revolution past the Columbus Crew 3-2 Saturday night.

The Revolution got two goals from Brian Kamler, including a score in the 70th minute that put the Revolution ahead 2-1, also on an assist from Noonan.

“We deserved what we got,” New England coach Steve Nicol said. “At the end of the game we created a lot of chances, and it was good to score goals.”

The Revolution (4-2-2) moved ahead of the Crew in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference with the win.

The Crew (3-3-2) played catch-up most of the game. Ross Paule scored in the 40th minute on a missed shot by teammate Kyle Martino to tie it at 1.

Columbus came back again in the 76th minute when Brian Dunseth knocked in Jeff Cunningham’s header after a corner kick by paule.

Down the stretch, New England goalkeeper Adin Brown stonewalled chances from Paule, Frankie Hejduk and Brian West between the 78th and 80th minute.

The Crew are now 1-2-1 at home.
