FARMINGTON – Selectmen will consider options Tuesday for the town’s gas purchases and award a bid to demolish and remove the former highway garage.
They’ll also hold a public hearing on the town’s involvement as fiscal agent for a $10,000 planning grant to extend the water lines to three elderly apartment complexes. And they’ll hold a hearing on a subdivision ordinance, which will update subdivision regulations adopted in 1978.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Building.
Town Manager Richard Davis said selectmen would discuss what they want to do on buying gasoline for the town’s vehicles. The board voted earlier this month to join with SAD 9 for buying diesel for the town’s fleet.
Time is running out on gasoline choices, Davis said, because new gas prices start June 1. Davis and Public Works Director Mitch Boulette need to know if the town is going with a town credit card or another option.
The town plans to demolish the former town garage. The fuel tanks are located there and the cost of moving the tanks is about $20,000. Davis and Boulette are exploring options and will report to selectmen Tuesday.
Davis said the town has received eight bids, ranging from $9,877 to $147,310, for demolition and disposal of the former highway garage.
