LEWISTON – The 2003 Senior College Summer Conference is scheduled for July 13 to 15 at the University of Maine Presque Isle.
Open to members of any Maine Senior College, attendees may choose from class sessions taught by selected Senior College faculty from around the state.
The summer sessions offer insights and perspective on a range of topics, from music and art to history and science. And like Senior College, there are no entrance requirements, grades or tests – only experience and interest in learning are required.
The conference is being planned by the Maine Senior College Network, which is housed at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. The institute provides assistance and coordination to Maine’s 15 Senior Colleges, including the Senior College at Lewiston-Auburn College in Lewiston.
Bus transportation from Lewiston and accommodations at the Presque Isle campus are available. All materials and meals will be covered by a nominal registration fee of $20. Interested persons should contact Sally Belisle at 783-3400 for details.
The Lewiston-Auburn Senior College recently completed its spring semester of six varied courses. The curriculum brochure for the upcoming fall semester, starting Sept. 15, will be issued in August. Courses are open to all persons 50 years of age or older and their spouses.
