LISBON FALLS – Lisbon Adult and Community Education announces its program of summer classes. Registration will begin June 2, and classes will start June 23.

Offerings will include computer and business courses, academic courses, GED, art and general interest.

Computers for Beginners will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays starting June 24 for six weeks. Keyboarding II will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Mondays starting June 23. The prerequisite for Keyboarding II is Keyboarding I, or the ability to type 20 words a minute.

An Office Practice class will start on Wednesday, June 25, and will run from 9 to 11 a.m. for six weeks. It is designed to meet the needs of students who work in an office setting or who hope to begin a career in an office. All the basics of office practice and procedures will be covered.

A Certified Nursing Assistant class will begin in September. The application deadline is Sept. 1. Call the Adult Education office at 353-3037 for application materials and more information.

Academic courses offered for high school diploma credit, or as prerequisites for college, are English and Algebra II. Both classes will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Classes will be held from June 2 to July 30.

A Math Refresher class iwill be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays for six weeks from beginning June 24. The class is intended for adults to review basic math for college placement tests or for employment.

General Educational Development testing will be available from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. A GED prep class will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Adult basic education tutoring is available to assist adults in reading, basic math and writing. Contact the Adult Education office for details.

An early morning aerobics class will be offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 16.

Drawing in Different Media will be offered from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays for six weeks beginning June 25. It is a basic drawing class where students will learn from observation and will have the opportunity to try different media including pencil, vine charcoal and pastel.

Common Household Repairs will be held for six weeks beginning June 25. The course will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. and will cover basic hand tool operations and common household repairs, such as electrical, plumbing and sheet rock.

A state certified boating safety class will be offered as soon as 10 students register. Most insurance companies offer a discount for those who complete the course. A Great Falls TV videography class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. July 15 and 17.
