1918 – 2003
BETHEL – Pearline M. McMillin, 84, of High Street in Bethel, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
She was born in Lisbon Falls June 24, 1918, a daughter of Alcide and Beatrice Fournier Paradis.
She attended Lisbon schools and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1935. She then attended and graduated from Bates College in 1939.
Pearline worked for the state of Maine as a social worker for the Department of Human Services for 15 years until 1954, when she married Roderick McMillin.
She then became bookkeeper for the family construction company, R.S. McMillin Construction. Mr. McMillin died in 1971.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxilary of Bethel, the Bethel Historical Society and was also a communicant of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. She was a very avid Bridge player.
She had a very special fondness for her two nephews and a niece, who survive her: Wayne Brann and his wife Kim of Florida, and Bruce Brann and his companion Dolores of Lisbon; her niece, Joan Kronstrand and her husband Kenneth, also of Lisbon.
