AUBURN – Auburn Education Association Aces and Fontaine of South Lewiston wound up in a 7-7 tie in the Minor Softball Division. Victoria Bunker and Kayla Lincoln were the top sticks for the Aces. Jessica Bowen and Richelle Ramsey led Fontaine. Crissy Lewis hurled for A.E.A, as did Heather Michaud for the Southies.
Potvin earned 3 victories in recent action in the Senior Softball Division. Potvin defeated Auburn Firefighters 10-5 as Amanda Pride legged out a triple. Darcy Howard also provided timely offense. Ashley Riethmann and Rachel Keene were the leading hitters for AFF. Katelyn Chamberlain was the winning pitcher. . . Pride banged 2 hits and knocked in 3 runs and Robin Kennedy was also a repeat hitter as Potvin outslugged Jim’s 15-10. Christy Sasser and Micaele Kelly led Jim’s. Howard earned the mound win. . . Chamberlain belted 3 triples as Potvin trimmed AFF 22-7. Ally Jordan singled and tripled. Beth Beaulieu collected 3 hits for AFF. Jamie Burns added 2. Katie Whittaker was the winning hurler.
New Auburn
AUBURN – VFW defeated Auburn Suburban’s Dunlap 10-1 in the Major Division. Kenzie Souders and Cam Camire shared the pitching duties. Souders cracked 2 doubles, while Corey Therriault and Steve Knowlton also had multiple hits. Ethan Grund was a repeat hitter for Dunlap.
VFW also knocked ASLL’s Austin Associates 15-3 as Therriault gained the mound win. Knowlton blasted a 3-run homer and Tyler Babb ripped a double and scored 4 runs. Devyn Flynn had 2 hits and the lone RBI for Austin.
Elliot
LEWISTON – Reed Distributors came back from a 7-3 deficit to defeat Hannaford 9-8 in the Major Division. Pitchers Alex Brochu and Tony Saucier combined to scatter 4 hits, striking out 13. Greg Labonte led Reed with a 3-3 night. Zach Parker added 2 hits, including a triple. Ian Bannister made a fine catch in right to foil a late Hannaford rally. Dustin Oberlander whacked a triple and Alex Chicoine a double for the Grocers.
South Lewiston
LEWISTON – Alex Wong hurled a complete game, striking out 12, as Aroostook Fence blanked Gendron’s Mobile 3-0 in a well-played Major Division contest. Tough-luck loser Joey Klemanski fanned 11. Logan Rossignol and Austin Renaud were the hittters for the winners. Klemanski singled for his team.
