PHILADELPHIA – Steve Trachsel pitched 6 2-3 shutout innings, outdueling Kevin Millwood in the New York Mets’ 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night.

Cliff Floyd had a two-run double and Rey Sanchez, Jeromy Burnitz and Tony Clark each had RBI doubles for the Mets, who have won four of six against Philadelphia in two weeks.

Trachsel (4-2) allowed five hits, struck out five and walked three to win his fourth consecutive start, all on the road.

Armando Benitez struck out the side in the ninth.

Expos 3, Marlins 2

MIAMI – Orlando Cabrera’s bloop RBI single capped a three-run rally in the seventh inning that carried the Montreal Expos over the Florida Marlins 3-2.

Montreal avoided being swept in a four-game series for the first time since 2000. The Expos’ three-game losing streak had matched their longest this season.

Rockies 12, Dodgers 5

DENVER – Todd Helton homered three times and had a career-high six RBIs to lead Colorado over the Los Angeles Dodgers 12-5 and extend the Rockies’ winning streak to five.

Brewers 3, Padres 2

SAN DIEGO – Brian Lawrence took a three-hit shutout into the ninth before stumbling and handing the Milwaukee Brewers a 3-2 loss, the latest collapse by the NL’s worst team.

The Brewers, who have the NL’s second-worst record, took two of three from San Diego and have beaten the Padres five times in six games over 11 days.

It was the second time in three games that a Padres starter took a three-hit shutout into the ninth inning only to see the Brewers rally. Jake Peavy did it on Tuesday night, but was knocked out after allowing consecutive singles with one out, and the Brewers rallied to win 4-2.
