RUMFORD β Two Mountain Valley High School students, injured in an after-school rumble Wednesday, received summonses for disorderly conduct.
Officer James Bernard said that two 16-year-old boys, one from Hanover and one from Rumford, decided at lunchtime Wednesday to fight after school in the area of the Hosmer Field tennis courts.
Word spread fast throughout the school and when police arrived after a 911 call there were between 100 and 150 student spectators surrounding the fighting pair, Bernard said.
βIt went to blows,β he added.
The Rumford youth, who was treated at the scene by Med-Care Ambulance paramedics, was transported by officer Daniel Garbarini to the police station. The Hanover youth was transported to Rumford Hospital by a friend, Bernard added.
