NORWAY – The Heywood Club of Norway, celebrating 100 years, will meet for a picnic at 6 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the home of Barbara Townsend, 475 Crockett Ridge Road. All members are invited and are asked to bring a casserole or salad. Meat, dessert and beverages will be provided. The group will discuss the seven-mile yard sale to be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 14, along with plans for participating in the Mellie Dunham Day at the Norway Summer Festival. Plans will also be made for a public supper on Aug. 9 at the clubhouse. Lobster raffle tickets will be available or can be obtained from any club member. PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 9, in the South Paris VFW on Main Street. The speaker, Don Mayberry, will speak on Stephens Memorial Hospital.

Antique show, sale

LOVELL – The fourth annual antique show and sale at the Lovell Historical Society building on Route 5 opposite Lake Kear Country Club will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13. Admission is $3 and includes raffle ticket and two free verbal antique appraisals.

Town museum

WOODSTOCK – The public is invited to view the exhibits at the Woodstock Historical Society from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The society has acquired furniture, glass and china, costumes and quilts, tins, tools, jewelry and a small art gallery and old photographs. There is a small research library and gift shop. The old clothespin sign at the back of the parking lot has been restored and the building itself was painted last year. Admission to the museum is free, but donations are accepted.

Bridge results

NORWAY – Four tables played a Howell movement at the May 30th meeting of Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge. Coming in first was Pete Cummings and Richard Allen. Nancy Farmer and Don Hitch were second, Barbara and Paul Beegel and Don Johnson and Rowena Palmer tied for third. All bridge players are welcome every Friday at 9 a.m.in the Fare Share Commons on Main Street. Municipal parking behind the building. No partner is necessary.
