LEWISTON – June Dragoon and Tammy Dube will be the featured artists for the June exhibit sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association of Central Maine Medical Center.
Dragoon, owner of the Hillside Art Gallery in Peru, has studied with Irene Duplissis and Barbara Trafaconti, but considers herself to be a self-taught artist. She is constantly learning and striving to improve her techniques. She works in a variety of mediums, but considers the versatility of water color to be magic.
She lives in Peru, a small town in the western mountains and surrounded by family and countryside, which provides subject matter. She enjoys painting landscapes, florals and children.
She is a member of the Western Maine Art Group in Norway and Upcountry Artists of Farmington. He work can be viewed in many area galleries and sidewalk shows.
Dube of Artistic Heirlooms of Mechanic Falls will also display samples of her work. She is a self-taught artist. She grew up in northern Maine, a setting which has provided her with an appreciation of nature. She specializes in painting portraits of people and pets. Her work includes oil, pastel and ink.
The exhibit may be viewed in the main corridor of the hospital throughout June. Information on purchasing the items on exhibit is available at the Gift Shop.
