PARIS – The Child Health Center’s Big Brothers Big Sisters recently held its annual Bowl For Kids Sake fund-raiser at the Oxford Hills Lanes in South Paris.

Funds raised through Bowl For Kids’ Sake will be used to match local children with a Big Brother, Big Sister, or school-based mentor in 10 area towns throughout Oxford County.

Individuals from the community and local businesses took part in Bowl For Kids Sake by raising sponsorship money, joining together in teams of four and bowling for two hours to support the mentoring programs.

For the second year in a row Debbie Witham of Bridgton, was the highest individual fund-raiser not employed by the Child Health Center. Other top individual adult fund-raisers included Bruce Rood (Norway), Gerald Newton (Norway), Maryann Brown (West Paris) and Bill McAllister (South Paris). Youths who raised the most sponsorship money were Devon Richards (Norway), Ryan Ricci (South Paris) and Kelly Bruneau (South Paris) all students at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

The top fund-raising company/organization was SAD 17 with the next five fund-raisers, representing local business teams, from Brill Lumber in Bridgton, Northeast Bank and the South Paris Branch of the Oxford Bank.

Many of the other bowlers who participated in the two-day event had the opportunity to leave with a door prizes donated by local businesses.
