Rumford Rotary Club Sponsors A Personal Wellness Event
During the Moontide Water Festival
On Saturday, June 28 as part of the Annual Moontide Water Festival Week, the Rumford Rotary Club is co-sponsoring with Rumford Hospital, Calpine and MeadWestvaco its seventh annual Rotary Moontide Water Festival Road Races. Included will be the certified 5K (ME99001WN), the River Valley 10K, and the 1 mile fun run. Additional support will be provided by E&E Awards, Carrabasset Spring Water, Legere’s Hardware, Sportshoe Center and Runner’s World, Chisholm Ski Club and Hannaford.
The 5K race has been certified by the USA Track and Field Road Running Technical Council. It is routed through the towns of Rumford and Mexico, crossing five historic bridges and traversing the downtown sections of each town. The race starts and finished at Hosmer Field.
The River Valley 10K Road Race is in its third year on the program and will involve running the 5K course twice. Participants can run in both races.
The One Mile Fun Run will provide an opportunity for young runners and children to try running competition. The route will be four times around the Hosmer Field track.

Pre-registration for the 5 /10K races is $10. Race day registration is $12. Fun Run registration is $5.
Race day registration is 7-8:30 a.m. The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. and the 5 and 10K races begin at 9 a.m.
Split times, water stops, and refreshments after the races will be provided. LL Bean gift certificates will be awarded for new race records. Awards will be given for the three top finishers (M/F) and the two top finishers in each age group.
Plan to come to Hosmer Field on Sat., June 28 to watch the participants compete. The bleachers will be set up at the finish line for the races and refreshments will be available following completion of the races. Awards will also be presented as soon as the results are determined. The participants always enjoy having a crowd cheer them on. Come on down!!
