What am I missing? President Clinton lied about a personal affair and the Republicans took months, many millions of dollars, an enormous media campaign and practically closed down the Congress in an effort to impeach him.
Meanwhile, our current president has lied about Iraq’s connection with Al Qaeda (none found), Iraq’s threat to the United States (non-existent), Iraq’s Sept. 11 connection (They were mostly Saudis), the threat of chemical weapons (none found), the threat of biological weapons (none found) and the threat of nuclear weapons (none found).
And if that isn’t enough, 200 American soldiers are dead and more dying every day. Add that to the uncounted thousands of Iraqi citizens who died when the greatest military force in history attacked a poorly equipped, improperly trained Third World nation.
Where are the cries of the irate conservatives now? For that matter, where are the cries of our citizens who are supplying the young men dying in this war? Have we all stopped thinking for ourselves? Mr. Bush has a high favorable rating according to the polls. Are the polls wrong or have we all learned to overlook the evidence?
Want to support and protect our troops? Bring them home.
