TURNER – Appalachia of the Avon-Kingfield area defeated Turner 4-1 Sunday in the Central Maine Men’s Soccer League. Travis Parent tallied 2 goals and Trevor Parent and Adam Masterman added 1 each. Masterman assisted on 3 of the tallies. Matt Maloney scored the lone Turner goal. Appalachia keeper Andy Sperry made 5 saves. Turner goalie David Stevenson made 8 stops. The winners are now 4-3-1. Turner is 0-7.
In another contest, Booters of Augusta blanked Farmington 3-0 as Eddie Weddington notched all of the goals. Chase Roberge assisted on each one. Nate Benoit goaled the shutout, making 4 saves. Farmington’s Ryan Hersey was credited with 8 stops.
