I am a strong believer that people shouldn’t touch a motorized vehicle if they have had even one drink. Everyone knows that alcohol, or any drug, alters your judgment. Therefore, you shouldn’t be driving. What I don’t understand is, why doesn’t zero tolerance for drinking and driving become law? And I thought the law stated that if you are put in handcuffs, you were automatically under arrest.

I also believe everyone should be treated equally.

There should be laws to ban drinking, just like the ban against smoking cigarettes or doing drugs in public places.

I think the Auburn Police Department and the city of Auburn negotiating the police union contract had to be a factor in this case, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the mayor of Auburn was driving and admitted to having three beers.

If a person can be arrested with .01 alcohol while behind the wheel, then make the law state zero tolerance, that’s including everyone. It doesn’t matter what title you hold.
