Let’s look at the facts about how our elected official, Mayor Guay, and city appointees, Pat Finnigan and Mark Adams, have been handling the city’s finances and overall business for the people.

The schools are in disrepair and with no money for supplies. We are also threatened regularly with teachers cuts or closed schools. We can’t afford to increase the pay of the police and firefighters. Then we have our officials using tax dollars for deals to build a new hotel, fixing condemned buildings, erecting useless art and hiring a law firm to defend one of their own against the police department.

There is a grassroots effort for action against these officials.

I say, to save our great city of embarrassment, Mayor Guay should resign and take his cronies with him.

This is what happens when people running for office go unopposed. We should hold our elected officials to a higher standard and make them more accountable to us, the people that pay the bills with our money in the form of taxes.
