RUMFORD – Local Elks Lodge No. 862 will host a visit by the Grand Exalted Ruler of the United States next week.

Exalted Ruler of the Rumford Lodge, Mary Ann Murphy, said Amos McCallum, a 40-year Elk and member of the Biddeford-Saco Maine Lodge No. 1597, and first Grand Exalted Ruler of the United States from Maine, will be in Rumford for supper and a meeting on Sept. 9.

All members are encouraged to attend to welcome McCallum to the Rumford area.

Dinner tickets should be purchased by Sept. 3 because of the limited seating expected. Elks from all over the region are invited to attend, Murphy said.

Tickets are $10 each and may be reserved by phoning Murphy at 364-3142.
