LONDON (AP) – Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles were treated to an evening of Shakespeare at London’s Globe Theater on Monday, with a star-studded cast.

Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow was among those acting excerpts from the Bard’s famous plays at the theater, which was built to resemble the kind existed during Shakespeare’s days.

Parker Bowles, Charles’ longtime companion, was dressed in a coffee-colored dress with glittering gold lace detail and a matching long jacket.

Charles was greeted at the theater on the banks of the Thames River by guests including actor Julian Glover.

Charles and Parker Bowles watched the performances from a box which in Shakespearean times was known as one of the “gentlemen’s rooms.” Sheltered from the elements, these seats would have been used by wealthy visitors.

Charles saw Paltrow reunited with her “Shakespeare In Love” movie co-star, Joseph Fiennes, as they performed the balcony scene from “Romeo and Juliet.”

The charity gala evening raised at least $157,000 for The Prince’s Trust, which helps disadvantaged youths.

Veteran actors Paul Scofield and Timothy West presented an excerpt from “The Tempest,” while Diana Rigg performed one from “As You Like It.”
