Fox and NBC took hits this season on their respective reality shows.

NEW YORK (AP) – In a week of little excitement on the TV dial, CBS scored a sweep of the top three shows and was the highest-rated network.

A repeat of “Everybody Loves Raymond” was the week’s most popular show, but that wasn’t saying much: it had just under 12 million viewers, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday.

Some of the summer’s reality series, like “Big Brother,” “For Love or Money” and “Fear Factor” did well in the ratings. But there were a few disasters: Fox’s premiere of a new “Temptation Island” tempted nobody with 3.8 million viewers and NBC’s “Race to the Altar” had even fewer.

For the week, CBS averaged 8 million viewers (5.5 rating, 10 share), NBC had 7 million (4.9, 9), ABC had 6.3 million (4.3, 8), Fox had 5.2 million (3.5, 6), the WB had 2.4 million (1.7, 3), UPN had 2.2 million (1.6, 3) and Pax TV had 930,000 (0.7, 1).

Nielsen, whose ratings were delayed due to the Labor Day holiday and processing problems, did not immediately have evening news ratings available.

A ratings point represents 1,067,000 households, or 1 percent of the nation’s estimated 106.7 million TV homes. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions tuned to a given show.

For the week of Aug. 25-31, the top 10 shows, their networks and viewerships: “Everybody Loves Raymond,” CBS, 12 million; “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” CBS, 11.7 million; “CSI: Miami,” CBS, 11.5 million; NFL Exhibition Football: Indianapolis vs. Denver, ABC, 11.2 million; “Law & Order,” NBC, 11.2 million; “King of Queens,” CBS, 11.1 million; “Without a Trace,” CBS, 10.6 million; “Big Brother 4,” CBS, 10.3 million; “60 Minutes II,” CBS, 10.2 million; “For Love or Money 2,” NBC, 10 million.
