CAMPTON, N.H. (AP) – A Thornton woman apparently lay injured down a highway embankment for at least four hours Sunday morning before another driver happened to see her.

Police believe 27-year-old Julie Bickford ran off Interstate 93 sometime before dawn. She wasn’t found until around 10:30, when another driver happened to stop because of car trouble and saw Bickford’s overturned car.

Police said Bickford was found in the underbrush a short distance from her car. They don’t know if she was thrown there, or got out on her own and only made it that far.

Police said speed apparently was a factor. They believe Bickford ran off the road sometime during the night.
