CANTON – SAD 21 directors are slated to enter two closed-door sessions at their 6:30 p.m. meeting Monday, Sept. 8, in Canton Elementary School.

Topics of the executive sessions include negotiations and the proposed merger with Peru School, which has been in the works for a year.

Other agenda items include an Aspirations PowerPoint presentation by Superintendent Thomas Ward and an overview of Dirigo High School’s Leadership Team by high school Principal Dan Hart.

Additionally, the school board will take action on approving high school parent and student handbooks, and nominations of Sarah Adley as a half-time science and math teacher at Dirigo Middle School, and Kurt Rowley as a quarter-time, high school social studies instructor.

New hires include:

• Meagean Melcher as a Title I education technician III at Canton Elementary School.

• Katie Dolloff as an education technician for special education at Dixfield Elementary School.

• Ben Bridges as a junior varsity soccer coach at Dirigo Middle School.

Ward will also report on opening day enrollments.
