TAMWORTH, N.H. (AP) – Officials will begin removing a dam on Bearcamp River later this week.
They said the project will restore the river and eliminate a public safety hazard.
Twenty-eight miles of river will be reconnected through the project.
, extending from the river’s headwaters in the Sandwich Range Wilderness of the White Mountains to its confluence with Ossipee Lake.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – An undergraduate at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire is the new Miss Indian Nations.
Cody Harjo of Ada, Okla., was chosen during the weekend in Bismarck. She is a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma.
Harjo was named best in the talent competition for an original story she wrote based on traditional coyote tales.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Manchester, N.H., YMCA is getting a $700,000 federal grant to create about 20 single-room, dormitory-style apartments to help alleviate the need of affordable student housing.
The apartments would be used by several schools, including University of New Hampshire, New Hampshire Community Technical College and New Hampshire Institute of Art.
