DIXFIELD – At their 6:30 p.m. meeting Monday, Oct. 6, at Dixfield Elementary School, SAD 21 directors plan to buy a new bus and get an update on the proposed Peru School merger.

The School Board is slated to accept a bank bid on a three-year note for $66,568 to purchase a 2004 84-passenger transit-style school bus.

Other agenda items include:

• Step-up Student Leadership Conference by Dori Fellman and Katherine Harvey.

• Action to approve a sixth-grade bottle drive set for Oct. 25 and 26, and a candy bar fund-raiser by Dirigo High School juniors.

• The technology action plan.

• Policy Committee update.

Under personnel action, Wade McLaughlin was hired as junior varsity boys’ basketball coach by the high school athletic director. Superintendent Thomas Ward has also accepted the resignation of Jean Cole, special education technician II at T.W. Kelly Dirigo Middle School, effective Nov. 26.
