Wildcats vs. St. Joes Saints
On September 25, the Elm St. School Wildcats played their sixth game of the season in Mechanic Falls on their home field. The boys’ team played first at around 4 o’clock.
The boys entered the field and started the game after warming up. In the first half, the Wildcats scored once by Rick Griffiths. Nicholas Williams assisted the goal. Eight goals were attempted in that half. The Saints scored five goals.
In the second half, the Wildcats did not score any goals, but made four attempts. The Saints scored two goals. The final score was Wildcats one and Saints seven.
The Elm St. School Lady Wildcats and the girls St. Joes Saints played the next game. In the first half, the Lady Wildcats had made no goals, but two attempts. On the other hand, the Saints scored once.
In the second half, the Lady Wildcats did not score any goals, but made more attempts. St. Joes didn’t score either but made several attempts. The final score was Elm Street School Wildcats with zero and St. Joes Saints with one.
“It was a very close game and they tried their hardest,” said a parent of one of the lady Wildcat’s soccer players, and that it was.
