PERU – Selectmen decided Tuesday to take a closer look at what to do about the town office’s copier lease.

The current lease for a reconditioned copier costs the town $1,641.90 a year. The Transco company has offered to buy out the remaining six months of the lease and install a new copier with a lease agreement costing $17 less per year. The board decided to study the issue further before discussing the lease again in two weeks.

The board also discussed the process of tax collection for some residents who had fallen behind in their payments.

“When they are making an attempt, we need to try and work with them,” said Selectman Bill Pulsifer.
