If you think that Attorney General John Ashcroft is going to find the guys who outed Valerie Plame, you’re greatly mistaken.
It’s been three months since sleazy columnist Robert Novak exposed her to the world. You better believe the shredders have been working overtime since then, and they’ll never be able to find phone records and documents that will reveal the “source” of this unfortunate outing of a CIA agent!
If Novak is a true American, he would divulge the names of the sources. He has divulged names of sources before; this is a far different case. This is a matter of national security and involves the lives of many people.
Ashcroft should appoint special counsel to investigate since he has a conflict; he and Karl Rove are great buddies, and Rove may be one of the sources. Rove has done these kinds of things and has given Novak “tips” in the past; I wouldn’t put it past him to do it again.
Democrats should band together and demand a special counsel take over this case. That way, we can be sure it will be taken care of in an aboveboard manner. Ashcroft is biased and will do anything Bush tells him to do.
We get lies, lies and more lies from the Bush administration. No weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq; bin Laden has not been found; and how can Bush say that we got rid of Sadam Hussein? Hussein is still alive and kicking in Iraq.
